My name is Allen Davis and I have been involved with the
Boerboels since 2001. I have researched the Boerboel extensively and
have had my ups and downs with the breed. I have purchased dogs from breeders who I thought were reputable and found one
disappointment after another and have learned not to take a breeders
word about about size, quality and temperament. These are things that
that you need to find out for yourself by visiting the kennel and
trusting your instincts, rather than to take the word of a breeder who
wants to take your money. If a breeder is telling you one thing, but
you see another...... trust your gut! I have purchased many dogs that I
have never used due to the fact that they just didn't stack up to my
criteria. And I have purchased dogs from people who simply will not
replace bad dogs! Including one that died from leukemia at 16 months
of age. One could argue that it was an act of God, but personally....... I
would not compromise my reputation on such a debatable issue.
I invite one and all to visit my kennel to see what I have to offer.
I do not inflate the size of my dogs nor will I lie about temperament.
Any dog with a bad temperament, will never be used in my breeding
program. If you are looking for a breeder with a good sales pitch you
you might as well move on, because I am NO salesman and I have no
product to MOVE and all you are going to find here is straight talk
and good dogs. And I will never give you a hassle about replacing a
dog under a legitimate claim.
About the S.A.B.T !!!!
I strongly agree with with the appraisal system and what it stands for.
However........ I am extremely disappointed in its current use,
prejudice and favoritism. We are doing the Boerboel a grave injustice
If we continue to give dogs scores that they do not deserve, and vise
versa. Again....... I strongly urge people to visit kennels and buy dogs
that appeal to YOU, rather than depend on a score that may or may
not be legitimate. And if you think that because one certain dog gets
a good score that all his offspring are going to score just as well, your
going to be in for a big surprise!!! In fact, the majority of the time it
works just the opposite. Instead..... look at the pedigree to see how MANY good scoring dogs are in it! I strongly suggest that you learn about the S.A.B.T. and how the appraisal system works. Then use that knowledge when you visit the kennels of your choice.
About buying dogs from a large kennel who we all know have one or two high scoring dogs, but also have many other dogs that don't ever
seem to have pups. Does this sound a little fishy to you? Well it
should! especially if the breeder is always telling you about dogs that
he never has listed on his website. Are you really getting what you
paid for? Good question! GO VISIT THE KENNEL!!
Thank you for your time
Allen Davis
